Why is my plant dying

This asks questions. It does not look at photographs, and that is deliberate: the cause is usually in the soil, where a photograph cannot see. Six questions at most, and it says when the answers do not settle it.

What is the plant doing that worries you?

Pick the thing you noticed first. If several things are happening, start with the one that began earliest; the result page offers a way back in for the others.

Leaves are turning yellow
The whole plant is drooping or wilting
Leaf tips or edges are going brown
Spots or patches on the leaves
Leaves are falling off
A stem or the base is soft, dark or mushy
Insects, webbing, sticky residue or white fluff
Growth is long, thin and leaning
It will not flower, or its buds drop
Something is growing on the soil

What this does not cover

A handful of questions cannot see your plant, your pot or your window, and they cannot rule out two things going wrong at once, which is common and the usual reason a confident answer turns out to be wrong. Where the answers do not settle it, the result says so and names the observation that would.
